PQ Rec Soccer - Spring Break Soccer Camp

April 7 - 10, from 9am to noon, Canyonside Park

PQ Rec. is offering this soccer camp to players 5 years and older, who are interested in improving their skill level, while having fun over their Spring Break.  Campers will be taught the skills necessary to play the game, in a fun-filled environment.  They will be taught the proper techniques of dribbling, passing, shooting, and receiving a soccer ball by experienced Competitive coaches. Groups will be kept small so that players will get the adequate individual attention they deserve.

About PQ Rec Spring Soccer

During the months of March through May, PQYSA conducts its Spring Recreational Soccer program. This program first started in 1995 is now fielding approximately 500 young players from our community. The program consists of short-sided games on smaller fields with 4 players per team on the playing field. The games are played on Sundays at Penasquitos Creek Park. There are no practices, so the games are played strictly for fun and to enhance the player’s skills during the off-season.

Spring soccer is open to all recreational players in the area as well as PQ Premier players. The teams are formed with a balance of recreational and Premier players, with the Premier players playing up an age group. The cost of the program is minimal, and it’s a great opportunity for our young players to work on their skills with the smaller fields and smaller goals.

Recreational teams are formed in late June to early July, with practices beginning on or after August 1st of each year. All games for Divisions 4 through 7, as well as home games for Division 3 are at Canyonside Park. The home games for Divisions 1 and 2 are at Canyonside Park and Black Mountain Ranch fields.

The Division 3 teams may play teams from the surrounding area, based on the number of teams that are formed within PQYSA and the local communities. The Division 1 and 2 teams play A-level soccer in the Presidio League gaming circuit. The season ends with a Recreational Tournament, which is held before Thanksgiving, with medals going to the top teams in each Division.
