About San Diego Soccer Club
San Diego Soccer Club (SDSC) is a non-profit, 501(c)3, youth soccer organization that operates both recreational and competitive leagues. Based in the North County Inland area of San Diego in the communities of Rancho Penasquitos, Rancho Bernardo, and 4S Ranch. The club is home to more than 1000 competitive players and more than 2500 recreational and TOPSoccer players.
History
San Diego Soccer Club is the consolidation of two great area soccer programs: The Penasquitos Youth Soccer Association and F.C. San Diego. These clubs shared a legacy of successful player development, stable operations and a commitment to the community.
In September 2010, San Diego Soccer Club was created from these two organizations, keeping the best of both clubs and benefiting from nearly three decades of youth soccer in the North County area.
In February 2021, San Diego Soccer Club entered a partnership with Surf Cup Sports for its competitive program, as SDSC Surf. The non-profit organization of San Diego Soccer Club continues to manage and direct the operations of the SDSC Surf program, the RB Rec program, the PQ Rec Program and the TOPSoccer program.
San Diego Soccer Club’s programs offers soccer to kids of all levels and ages from recreational to premier level competitive teams. Our goal is to develop each player and to ensure each player improves from year to year. Each age group has several teams allowing a player to grow and progress to higher levels within the same club. Equal development opportunities are provided to every player on every team regardless of entitlement level.
Recreational Soccer
San Diego Soccer Club has recreational soccer programs that have been an integral part of the Rancho Penasquitos and Rancho Bernardo communities for 30 years. Boys and Girls from ages 3 through 18 are introduced to the game of soccer through practices and games played during the Fall and Spring seasons. The coaches are parent volunteers who are trained by the San Diego Soccer Club professional coaching staff. The teams are taught age-appropriate skills at practice and have weekly games throughout the season to put their new skills to test. In addition, RB Rec and PQ Rec Soccer offers skills clinics, shooting clinics, summer and spring break camps, all-star games, and a tournament at the end of each season. For more information go to our Recreational Soccer Page.
Premier Level Competitive Soccer Boys and Girls U8-U19
The SDSC Surf competitive soccer program offers teams in every age group from U8 through U19 for those who are interested in a higher level of play. These teams are coached by a highly qualified international coaching staff that train and develop youth soccer players with the objective of having players have the opportunity to play at the highest levels of competition available in the country. Competitive coaching focuses on skill development in the early years and tactical abilities in the later years. And while winning is always our coaches’ game objective, skill development of our players is our primary focus.
The SDSC Surf program has grown to be the premier club of North San Diego fielding many Premier level teams in both the Girls and Boys programs. SDSC has fielded many very successful teams winning many State Cup Championships and repeat National Cup Finalists. Many players in our program have successfully entered college soccer programs and earned athletic scholarships.
